"Okay, we're entered," Ryanne told Cameron, who was sprawled across her bed in her bedroom, painting her nails a bright green while Ryanne was using her computer. "Now we just have to wait."

"We're not going to win," Cameron said. "We have two chances in, what? A hundred? Five hundred? More?"

"Oh, don't say that," Ryanne said, turning away from the computer screen to look at her best friend. "We could win. Tokio Hotel doesn't have that big of a fanbase in Minnesota."

Cameron rolled her eyes. "So, even if we do win those backstage passes, do you think the guys in the band will seriously care about us? Best case scenario is we get an autograph and a hug and a We-Really-Appreciate-Your-Support before they fly away and we become just two more names on a long list of fans."

"Cam, come on," Ryanne said. "You make meeting Tokio Hotel sound like some sort of torture. It would be awesome! Just imagine: it would be TH in person. Up close. We could talk to them and get their autographs…but it's not like it isn't a big deal. It is a huge deal! They wouldn't just forget us like that."

"They might," Cam said.

Ryanne pressed her lips together. "Why do you have to be so negative?!"

"I'm not being negative. I'm being realistic. We won't matter to them even if we do win the contest."

"So, what? You wouldn't go if you won?"

"No. I would go. I love Tokio Hotel."

"So why does it matter if they don't remember you? They're pretty busy guys. They're an international band. You can't expect them to."

"I don't expect anything of them. It's that the knowledge of knowing that we're not special enough to be remembered would hardly make it worth it."

"But it shouldn't matter if they remember you."

"But it does matter."

"But it shouldn't. You will remember. That should be enough."

"I know. It's just…I don't want to be disappointed."

"You won't be," Ryanne promised.

"And after this, we'll announce the winner of the pair of backstage passes to meet the members of Tokio Hotel at the Myth in St. Paul on August 16th at 7 o'clock. Right after this. Stay tuned."

Ryanne grinned at Cameron as the radio announcer cued a crappy pop song. They had been waiting all morning for the winner to be announced.

"I hope it's us!" Ryanne squealed.

Cameron smiled back. Despite her doubts, she was excited, too. They had entered the radio station's contest for the backstage passes a month ago, and had been antsy for the results ever since.

"Alright," the radio announcer was back. "We've got the winner of the pair of backstage passes to meet the members of Tokio Hotel!"

Ryanne and Cameron both grabbed each others' hand and squeezed their eyes shut.

Please be us, please be us, please be us, please be us….

"And the winner is…"

Please be us, please be us, please, please, please, please!!!!!

"Cameron J. from Andover!"

Both girls screamed and hugged. They were both jumping up and down in their joy.

"…okay, Cameron J., you've got ten minutes to call in and claim the pair of backstage passes for you -and whoever you want to take with you- to meet Tokio Hotel at the Myth in St. Paul on August 16th. If you don't call in, CJ, we'll be giving these passes to someone else!"

Ryanne gasped at the news. "Quick, Cam! Call in!"

"I am, I am!" Cameron was fumbling to get her cell phone out of her pocket and dialing the radio station's number. When she got through, all she managed to gasp was: "I'm Cameron J. from Andover!"

"I can't believe we won!" Cam gushed. "I never thought we would win in a million years!"

"Oh, whatever," Ryanne said, flapping her hand dismissively. "I knew we were going to win the entire time."

Cam laughed. "Now, who to take with me? Too bad I don't know any other Tokio Hotel fans."

Ryanne gaped at her. "You said you were going to take me if you won!"

"I know, I know," Cam said, laughing. "I just wanted to see your face. Of course I'm taking you with me. I want my best friend to be there when I spaz out and die."

"Yay!" Ryanne said, hugging Cameron. "I love you!"

"Sure, sure," Cam said. They were both laughing, they were so happy and excited for August 16th.

♦ ♦ ♦

"I just can't believe it," Cam whispered later that night, before they fell asleep. They were having a sleepover in celebration.

"I know," Ryanne whispered back. "We're going to meet Tokio Hotel."
